|Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park
This private forest reserve is home to acres of unspoiled forest, trails, beaches and lagoons, where visitors can go for a swim. To visit, make arrangements with the Punta Cana Ecological Foundation, which owns and operates the park.
For those who love to spend their days on the greens, there are several excellent golf courses in Punta Cana. Most are found at the area's many resorts - a few favorites to try are the golf courses at Punta Espada, Punta Blanca and La Cana.
The consistency of the white sand on this beach is nothing short of amazing. This powder fine sand, coupled with clear blue water makes this one of the Dominican Republic's top beaches. However, it is by no means a secluded beach, as there are several resorts in the area.
If hanging out at the beach, pool and swim up bar all day isn't enough, ask the concierge at your hotel about the many excursions offered in the Punta Cana area. A few to try are Punta Cana Mike's Dominican Adventure where you'll see a slice of everyday Dominican life, Bavaro Runners Safari Adventures where you can visit a typical sugarcane plantation or cigar manufacturer and Dressel Divers for scuba diving.
