Caracas has several museums for people of all ages to enjoy. The fine arts museum in Caracas is the Museo de Bellas Artes, which holds traditional works of art.  Works by such well known names as Botero and Matisse are on view at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. Museo de los Ninos offers interactive displays for children dealing with  medicine, communications, space and more.  Who knew learning could be so much fun?

El Teleferico

The cable cars that carry visitors to the summit of the mountain El Avila offer the choices views of Caracas. Not only can you enjoy hiking and magnificent vistas, but a great meal at one of several restaurants on the mountain. 

Hipódromo La Rinconada

If you love horse racing you'll want to head to the Hipodromo, and if you've never been to the races this might be the time to check it out.  All across Venezuela people are gambling on these thoroughbred races that are run every weekend and breathlessly waiting for the results.   

Head Outside

Lovers of nature and the great outdoors will find that there are a variety of activities in and around the Caracas area for them to enjoy.  Just north of the city lies the Parque Nacional el Avila, with more than 200 km worth of nature trails ideal for hiking. 
Shopping at Centro Sambil
Shop like a local a Centro Sambil, the largest shopping mall in all of South America and home to more than 500 stores and eateries.
